An enchanting apartment in a 1950s villa with a terrace that offers a breath-taking azure view of the Tuscan archipelago. Finely furnished, with floors in terracotta and hand-painted tiles, it is immersed in a large and fragrant Mediterranean garden of centuries-old olive trees, elms and pines that provide shade and delicious respite from the summer sun.
The villa is located along the Tuscan coast on the promontory of Monte Argentario with views of over 4,000 sqm of terraced green slopes and perched 120 m above the sea.
The house was designed and built by a celebrated architect in the 1950s according to a new concept that promoted harmony with the landscape allowing for fluid movement in and out; its many windows and terraces give the impression of being on a veranda – in fact, even inside you feel like you’re in a garden.
The magnificent 220° view takes in the coastline, the sea and the islands: Elba, with Monte Capanne its highpoint and two nearby islets; to the left, the rocky peaks of the island of Montecristo, and the island of Giglio further on; and every evening the sunset offers its own unique spectacle.When the brisk winds from the north make the air even crisper, you can see as far as the French island of Corsica. Fresh natural breezes rustle the garden of centuries-old olives, elms, laurels and pines whose scents mingle with those of other typical Mediterranean plants such as rosemary, heather, cacti and yucca.
The double bedroom has a children’s cot. The master bathroom, with spacious shower, is decorated in tiles hand-painted in tones of blue. The second bedroom has twin beds that can be joined upon request and a second bathroom with shower. Outside a covered patio is furnished with deck chairs, sunbeds and a barbeque. The apartment is about 140 square meters. The kitchen is well equipped, with a 4-burner stove, oven, fridge freezer, table, high chair for children.
